From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. Medicine is the art and science of healing. It encompasses a range of health care practices evolved to maintain and restore health by the prevention and treatment of illness. Contemporary medicine applies health science, biomedical research, and medical technology to diagnose and treat injury and disease, typically through medication, surgery, or some other form of therapy. The word medicine is derived from the Latin ars medicina, meaning the art of healing. Though medical technology and clinical expertise are pivotal to contemporary medicine, successful face-to-face relief of actual suffering continues to require the application of ordinary human feeling and compassion, known in English as bedside manner. GNU Free Documentation License What medicine would you give to a 6 month old that started off sneezing and now has a runny nose/stuffy nose? Q. Yesterday my daughter started sneezing all day long. Last night her nose was stuffy. Today its running and she still sneezes some. She doesn't have fever. I am thinking it may be allergies. When a baby teethes do they sneeze and etc? I may call her doctor tomorrow. She just gets so uncomfortable when she sleeps, she woke up all night long. Does anyone have any suggestions on medicine or if they think its allergies? Thanks for all the help! Asked by Janette - Thu Feb 5 19:27:25 2009 - - 11 Answers - 0 Comments A. I have the same problem with my 7 month old as well. He started out with sneezing, then the runny nose, then the constant congestion and coughing. Its going on two weeks now and still not gone. There's no medicine you can actually give. This is what I do: 1. Saline on a q-tip just inside the nose 2. Johnson and Johnson Vapor Baby wash 3. Elevate the crib mattress so that they sleep on an incline 4. Use a nasal aspirator 5. Bring him in the bathroom when you take a hot steamy shower 6. Use a vaporizer 7. Baby Vapor Rub on the chest and around the nose Answered by Brianna [Cam's Mama] - Thu Feb 5 19:40:25 2009 What type of medicine should I buy for a sore throat, sinuses, and overall cold symptoms? Q. I never really used any type of Cold & Sinus medicine. Any suggestions based on your own experiences? Asked by J - Wed Sep 5 09:39:12 2007 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. based on your symptoms, i would recommend anything that has a pain reliever and nasal decongestant. believe it or not, a sore throat is a type of pain. a pain reliever will help with the sore throat as well as any aches you may be experiencing. when you say 'sinuses' i'm assuming you have a stuffy nose. a nasal decongestant (ie. pseudophedrine or phenylephrine) will relieve any swelling or pain in the nasal passages. Most cold and sinus products like Advil Cold and Sinus, Tylenol Cold Multi symptom, or generic equivalents are good at battling these symptoms. If you're suffering from a runny nose, then you might want to take a antihistimine like claritin (generic is loratidine) or benadryl (generic is diphenhydramine) as well. Answered by rtd613 - Fri Sep 7 00:35:19 2007 What is the best Flea Medicine I can use on a dog weighing over 135lbs?
Q. I have a Mastiff over 135 , and I can never seem to give him the right dosage of flea medicine. Can someone give me suggestions on what to use? Asked by Sala - Mirandus - Mon Sep 15 12:35:45 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. Front line and Strong hold are both flea treatments that you can use, but i can't remember the size they go up to, you can also buy a Front line Spray that you can use and don't have to worry about the weight of your dog, it is much harder to use than the pipettes if your dog doesn't like being sprayed. You can ring your vets and ask them what they suggest i am sure they will know which one is the best. I have just looked it up for you and the largest size is 40 - 60 kg, so i guess you could use 2 pipettes but just check with the vet first.
