Medicine is the art and science of healing. It encompasses a range of health care practices evolved to maintain and restore health by the prevention and treatment of illness.

Contemporary medicine applies health science, biomedical research, and medical technology to diagnose and treat injury and disease, typically through medication, surgery, or some other form of therapy. The word medicine is derived from the Latin ars medicina, meaning the art of healing.

Though medical technology and clinical expertise are pivotal to contemporary medicine, successful face-to-face relief of actual suffering continues to require the application of ordinary human feeling and compassion, known in English as bedside manner.

What medicine is best to treat a dog for fleas?
Q. Is Frontline Plus or Revolution a better medicine to treat a dog for fleas? He is a 75 pound German Shepherd mix and we've had a hard time getting rid of his fleas. Also, how would you treat fleas in a yard?
Asked by clkkk13 - Tue Oct 21 16:14:50 2008 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Revolution on dogs is a no no. A lot of new complications in dogs have been discovered. Many vets have all together stopped using revolution on dogs because the risks are so high. Try Frontline. Raid makes a good outdoor insecticide, works on fleas. You can find it at any walmart, but keep the animals out of the yard for 24 hours after spraying.

Where can I find a medicine which will help to reduce the side effect suffer from chemotherapy surgery?
Q. I am looking for a medicine which will help to reduce the side effect suffer from chemotherapy surgery. The doctor told me the medicine contains "L-Glutamine" and it is made by "Cambridge Nutraceuticals company". However, I couldn't find it anyway. Anyone know where I can buy it? Online or in-store all fine.

A. You can buy it at most vitamin stores or body building supply shops. Ask for L- Glutamine itself. My wife took it during chemo. It is best and more economical to buy it in powder form and without any other additives. Don't just buy a general supplement with some L-Glutamine in it. It is made by more than one company. You just mix the powder up with water or I guess milk if you want. Add some real vanilla extract if you want to improve the flavour as it doesn't have much taste.

A. For school - finish HS Get a college degree, and while you're doing that, take certain required science courses (an advisor in college can help you plan that). Also take the MCAT (like the SAT but for med school) Get accepted into medical school and spend 4 grueling years getting an education that will prepare you to learn how to be a doctor. Get a residency position in internal medicine (or whatever you decide you want to do - that might change in medical school when you actually get to work in the various fields) Total time after HS = 11 years. A long road, but if you're meant to be a physician, worth it.
