From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. Medicine is the art and science of healing. It encompasses a range of health care practices evolved to maintain and restore health by the prevention and treatment of illness. Contemporary medicine applies health science, biomedical research, and medical technology to diagnose and treat injury and disease, typically through medication, surgery, or some other form of therapy. The word medicine is derived from the Latin ars medicina, meaning the art of healing. Though medical technology and clinical expertise are pivotal to contemporary medicine, successful face-to-face relief of actual suffering continues to require the application of ordinary human feeling and compassion, known in English as bedside manner. My mother used it for her surgical scarring. It's fairly expensive, about 10 for a small pot and approximately 20-25 for the larger. Use everyday morning and night, will take about 10 weeks to show difference. Answered by Confused.com - Thu Aug 13 15:05:57 2009 How does nuclear medicine work at curing disease? Q. How do you know if you have the aptitude to become a doctor?
Q. I've worked for years in an unrelated area but am very interested in medicine, treatments & ethics. I am thinking of returning to study medicine. How can I assess if I have the aptitude and ability? I notice that I often have had different views to my doctors and have later discovered that I was correct. The only thing is that in school I did not like chemistry or physics. Mathematics was my strength and all through university, I got maximum points. Asked by (:Cute Girl:) - Sun Dec 7 08:46:48 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. usually if you dont have chemistry A level then you can do a pre-med course at some uni's. You have a year before you start the 5 year course with other people who don't have the A levels they need and you cover all the sciences. Before you make a decision it might be a good idea to get some work experience in the different fields. Definately try to get some in a hospital. I suggest A&E. Also speak to some doctors and find out the pros and cons of their job. It can be tough but loads of fun if you like that sort of thing :) and very rewarding at the end of the day.
