Q. I installed this program but accidentally the installed files got deleted and I also don't have the installer file so I can't reinstall it. Anyway, there's this record of the installed program in Add/remove programs in the Control Panel. And when I try to uninstall it, it says that it can't be uninstalled since the uninstaller doesn't exist. How do I get rid of that "record" thing? Is there some program? I also tried using a registry cleaner and that didn't work.

A. I would recommend using a program called CCleaner.exe which can be downloaded for free from download.com (CNet.com). Its a free shareware program and its very useful. One of its uses is deleting entries from the Add/Remove programs from the Control Panel. After installing the program, go to TOOLS, select the program you want to erase, and select delete entry. Afterwards go to ISSUES, select scan for issues to clean your registry. Scan you registry several times until most or all of the issues are cleaned. Go to program files and remove the folder of the deleted program. The alternative is to manually edit your registry using regedit.exe. I wouldn't recommend it because you can cause irreversible problems and its also time consuming. [cont.]
